I replaced the engine in my infiniti g35x and the check engine light came on with the P0335 code for a faulty crank sensor circuit. when I was pulling out the old motor the pigtail got smashed and I had to wire up a new pigtail to the wiring harness for the crank position sensor and my question is could the code be tripped because I only twisted each individual wire together and taped it. I already put a new crank sensor in and also checked my battery and charging system. the engine does start but I have to keep cranking it over until it finally starts and it takes about 5 to 10 seconds to start. any suggestions of what could be causing this.

Hi there,

It is possible this would cause the crank sensor code, but also, the flywheel has to be indexed properly or the code will appear.
