Can changing trans fluid @ 98m harm trans if not regularly

P0750 -02 A4 1.8. 98m miles audi service doesnt recomend changing transmission fluid if no record of changing regularly at 35m. Code cleared. could changing fluid harm transmission. If u dropped oil pan to see if fluid is low or dirty could should you change it. it drives ok now after sputtering & shifting sluggishly 2 days ago. Thanks

If it was my car, I would replace the fluid out and the filter. Its a costly repair if you listen to the dealer

Its possible replacing the fluid will fix the issue, I've seen it fix issues in some cases and some case it doesn't

use the OEM Audi transmission fluid
