What causes a P0455 code to be produced

I have a 2008 Cadilliac Esclade that keeps producing a p0455 code. I've replaced the gas cap and its still produces the p0455 code. Could my fuel tank pressure sensor/module be causing this?

This code is for a large evap leak. Normally if the gas cap isn't the problem then the vent control valve is. Test the valve and if it's working properly, then have the evap system smoke tested to locate the leak.
