What does this all mean? How much money will this cost?

How much money does this translate too? Need an honest answer.

The issues seens to be with the transmission, if the car is shifting hard and slamming gears  the transmission might be bad. which is over $800 for a used one and maybe 4-5 hours of labor.

it has to be checked, maybe drain the fluid and see if there are metal pieces in the transmisson pan or not. best case it might need the fluid and filter (if it uses one) replaced
