U0101 Lost communication with TCM (transmission control module)

The transmission torque request circuit is used to improve the shift feel,the TCM request that the ECM reduce engine torque during shifting events, If the ECM is unable to comply with the request P2544 will code.In order for this fault to occur , there should not be a communication fault code stored. This is not a code that occurs by itself, because you have a communication code, that shoudl be trouble shooted first. U0101 can be the main cause for P2544 to set, The first step is check the fuse listed as TRANS IGN 1 , in the under hood fuse box which will be fuse 19 which is a 15 amp fuse. Back out terminal connection to the transmission connection can cause U0101 code to set,corroded connection to the transmission control module can also cause U0101 to set, and even a failed TCM can cause this.
