car odb reads po401 .part house said it needs new egr valve.i read site on net ,I need to clean all= ports where valve feeds.should I replace all hoses also.what is dpfe sensor ,and do I need to replace it also

You can clean the egr valve also if you wanted to, I have cleaned them before and it worked if its cleaned correctly it will work. I would also clean all the piping. Use a wire brush and flat screwdriver along with spraying WD-40 to loosen up the carbon buildup and use brake cleaner to clean everything up after.

Install it back and erase the code.
