2007 matrix P0741 cel

Question

stopped on hwy to check kayaks, restarted and accidentally pushed the overdrive button, realized it after 1/2 mile and repushed it, seemed OK but CEL came on about 75 miles later and stayed on. took to autozone and got 0741. Unhooked the battery, now off. Was this a result of the accidental overdrive?
Car has just 75K and was told not to check the trans fluid until 90 by (by dealer)
