I was told by Honda service center that I needed a new imrc valve (engine light was on and off, other than a very slight hesitation from a stand still, car drives fine) I would rather not pay the 650.00 if I don't need to. The year is 2004, crv. Do you have any experience with this problem?

P1077 IMRC System malfunction  (low RPM)

There is a TSB that Honda has produced for this code condition, TSB # 05-052 Titled "Engine control Mil On DTC P1077, what this is about is a replacement of a new improved IMRC solenoid valve. due to sticking. You can ask Honda for a goodwill warranty and it may apply for you.
