P0340 f-150 2004 Ford - fix

Question

threw a P0340 code on 04 f-150. showed some low rpm misfire on right bank. cam phaser ticking present. Should I attempt to fix or trash motor as one mechanic told me? 138000 miles

what weight of oil are you using? the oil needs 5w-20 oil

I would use the correct oil mobil 1 or Pennzoil ultra or pennzoil platinum in 5w-20 (7 quarts of oil) you have buy 3 gallons from walmart for cheap (15 quarts good for 2 oil changes)

change the oil and filter reset the light if it comes back I would replace the camshaft position sensor
