Have a 99 Acura CL with an engine code P1259. Engine had bad oil leak at the bottom front....service technician replaced the seal/o-ring type after an 11 hour job. Oil level stays full but after 3 weeks of running the P1259 code pops up. Technician rechecked the o-ring install...all looks OK......reset the engine light, went 3 more weeks...no leaks, but the light came back again. All connections to the solenoid and sensor look fine.....Technician is stumped....what else can it be? Can the engine be damaged if ran this way?

Vehicle: 1999 Acura CL 3.0L

The vtec control system has to be checked

what weight of oil are you using? the car takes 5w-30 the wrong weight can set the light on, also a clogged vtec (due to dirty oil)

replace the oil every 4,000 miles and use a good brand of oil
