Engine was running rough at idle and low power when driving. Had check engine light on with code P0301, missfiring on cylinder #1. Replaced spark plugs and fuel filter. started the car and the was running normal. after running the engine for 5 minutes, the rough idle started again.

Drove the car around hopping to get the check engine light back on with a code, but nope.
So i decided to scan for codes aways. Now am getting code P1409, EGR vaccum circuit....
I checked the lines going to the egr and all are plugged.

I noticed that one of the wires that plug into the wire harness that goes to the EGR is 1/2 burnt by touching a hot metal near the EGR.

WOuld that be the issue or should I have replace the EGR?

Pleas advise.

P1409 EGR vacuum regulator circuit malfunction

The code condition is the EGR vacuum regulator circuit has a open circuit, If the wire that goes to the EGR vacuum regulator valve is burnt that problaby the problem and just repair the wire, as for the misfire you may just have to replace the COP. (Coil on plug) coil
