2004 Nissan Murano 6 Cyl DOHC with engine code P0420. What does this code mean?

Hi there,

This code means the catalytic converter on bank 1 is not cleaning the exhaust as well as it should. In most cases a new converter will be required to resolve the problem. This is the bank closest to the firewall on the engine.
