I reset the ac control panel engine light flashed 5 times 01 stratus whats the five mean?

the ac wont kickin when its in the regular ac mode only when its switched over to defrost. the pump will only run on the defrost mode. I reset the panel and the engine light flashed five times. ive even tried another panel same thing. no check engine light on
