I have replaced the timing belt and water pump. My van has 233000 miles on it. It overheated on me and since I had to replace water pump I had the timing belt replaced as well since i had never done that before. Once replaced the engine light came on. The van itself is running very smoothly and you can not even tell when it is on.

P0016 Crankshaft position - camshaft position correlation Bank 1 Sensor 1

When the timing belt is replaced , the new belt has marks for where the camshaft is index to it timing marks and so does the crank pulley mark. If you are very sure of your timing marks P0016 does occur after a timing belt installation . You need to clear the code. Then disconnect the battery this clears the long term memory .
