does the 08 scion xb have a transmission control module

I want to know if this model scion has a tcu,,and its location..thankyou

Yes see Shift lock Control ECU, picture below.

 

P0778 and P0748 are for shift solenoil SL1 and SL2

If the transmission is shifting hard and grinding gears the transmission might be bad, also if you replace the fluid or drop the transmission if there are adnormal amount of shaved metal or big pieces the transmission will be bad
