Stopped briefly while driving on city street. Went to accelerate and car was revving but not really moving. Parked. Cut off engine. Restarted and it wouldn't start. Waited then tried again and it started. Was able to drive to dealer. Received CEL code P2138. Tech suggested 60k mile service tune up and parts to the cost of $1200. What does any of that have to do with the pedal assembly? If replaced would it need to be replaced frequently?

Hi there,

The answer is nothing. The 60k service would not do anything to resolve the code, however they might have been suggesting it if the car is at 60k. As for the code, the APP should not have to be replaced often, it's not a real common failure and has been my experience that due to the location it's more often a bad connection then the sensor itself.
