My car is consuming too much gas and I have a couple different codes that pop up and one of them is P1491 for a Nissan sentra. Could that be a reason for loosing so much gas!?

Vehicle: 2000 Nissan sentra SE 2.0

If the EVAP canister is OK, and there are no other visual damage to the EVAP system (e.g. loose or broken hoses), replacing the vacuum cut valve bypass valve takes care of the problem.
