The EGR system and EVAP system collect gas fumes and built up gas pressure and open solenoids to put the built up pressure into the engine to burn.

the EVAP system will have to be check to see if there are not loose, broken or dry hoses.

see diagnostic procedures below.

the P0401 might be a clog EGR valve and the piping, it can be cleaned
