P0340 2003 Ford F150 -

I have a 2003 f150 6cyl 4.2 ltr truck that has 151k on it.my check engine soon light came on and i can't register my truck until i fix the problem. I had autozone check with thier code reader and got code P0340.the truck runs fine. what could cause this problem?

check the battery to see if its holding charge and charging to the correct voltage, if it is most likely the Camshaft Position Sensor in bank 1 is bad.

Possible causes

- Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor

- Camshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted

- Camshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection

- Faulty starter motor

- Starting system circuit

- Dead (Weak) battery
