P0170 Fuel trim lean.

When you have a code condition for a lean condition this is where there is more air to fuel ratio. One common trouble area is the MAF air duct tube which goes from the MAF (mass air flow) to the throttle body, this has a tendency to rip and allow false air (air that get past the MAF) which in turn lean the engine. Another common condition is where the MAF sensor gets contaminated or dirty which reports false intake air to the ECM. the fix for this is to perform a MAF cleaning,using a MAF cleaner and also doing a throttle body cleaning. Inspection of vacuum leaks are also involved in fixing P0170 . this can come from broken vacuum lines .
