p0001 code car is running fine 69k miles any way to isolate w/o dealer

engine light is on, but car runs fine, no loss of power. obd2 only shows p0001 code, for 03 bmw 325i 6cyl. is there a way to isolate issue w/o taking to dealer? could it be fuel filter as it has 69k miles on engine

P0001 Fuel vaolume regulator control circuit

This is a generic code that BMW does not use, but it does not mean its not valid, On BMW this would be a lean condition, This can be from a oil cap not properly secured,to pulling out the oil dipstick while the engine is running, clear this code this is a intermittent condition
