my 2001 sunfire has a error at the odometer

one night my sons car wouldn't start, it had a loose battery cable,after fixing it the started fine, but after looking at the dash, there's a big ugly error code at my odometer as well as a chech engine light

some cars will have the engine light come on after the for the battery was disconnected. You will have the reset the code with an OBD-II reader.
