now it wont start. could the sensor of totally failed?

Hi there,

It's very possible the sensor has failed. It's not uncommon and the car wouldn't start if it has. I would start by replacing the sensor and then seeing if the car will start. If it doesn't then check the timing belt. If it jumped time they this error would or could show up.
