Bmw park brake malfunction

Question

I have a 07 bmw x5 that had the parking brake stuck on. I had to manually release the brake. My battery just got replaced so I think something happened during install. How do I reset parking brake?

To reactivate , after you manually released the brake , you step on the brake pedal , and press the parking brake switch  , when the lamp on the instument panel goes out the parking brake are in operation again, Give at least 2 minutes in letting it reset itself,
