I have the code P0715 on my 2002 Ford Escort

Question

I own a 2002 Ford Escort about a month ago my "Service Engine Soon." light came on. I took to two auto stores and the basically said it was the speed sensor. I have a friend who fixes cars and he put a speed sensor that came from a junk yard. Although,h before I let him work on it the light went out. He knew that going into working on my car. It lasted two weeks and my light came back on. He recommended that I go to a auto shop. I have a appointment for tomorrow. the thing is the light went out again. I talked to the manager and I will be bringing my car there anyway. What do you think? what happens if they can't find the problem? Or is it pretty straight forward even though there is not a light it's the speed sensor or the wiring?
