Question

I got the code P0983 on my 2006 Toyota Rav4 2.4L FWD. I have already put in a new solenoid D. What am I missing?

P0983 Shift solenoid D control circuit high (shift solenoid valve S4)

The ECM has detected a open in the solenoid this can either be in the harness or the solenoid itself, measure the resistance of the shift solenoid you should have 11 ohms to 15 ohms. Also check the harness from shift solenoid to ECM
