P0001 - how can fix it

my pick-up rpms go up down when at a red light and will some times kill the truck.How do I know what is an dhow fix it

P0001 Fuel volume regulator circuit

When you use a scan tool the code it gives is the code stored in its memory of the tool, The code in your vehicle then matches the code in the scantool, In other words this is not  a correctly defined code, but that not to say you dont have a problem, it just not correctly defined.When a engine surges this is always due to false air leak and low fuel pressure, For a Ford 4.6 if it was due to a vacuum leak it will surge but will not stall out.Low fuel pressure will surge and stall it out, but you definetly will not have a quick restart, For now inspect the air filter and inspect the MAF (mass airflow) air duct and make sure the connection are properly connected,
