Engine oil for camry 1999 4 cylinder

Hello,

  I changed my engine oil and drove 5000 miles. I used this oil "Extended Performance 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil,". It lasts for 15000 miles, but my is car is old, and my friend told me that I should not use this oil till I drive 15000 miles. Thus, I was wondering if you could tell me when I need to change my engine oil? So far, I have driven 5000 miles. Thank you!

Use 10w-30 you dont need synthetic oil. A 1999 Toyota Camry never required this oil.Because of the mileage and the age you will just burn oil.

I agree. Just use regular 10W-30 and change every 3000 miles.
