What is causing this Honda accord code 1259

The P1259 code is for the VTEC system. Sometimes the code is triggered when the engine oil level is too low, the oil is to dirty or the oil weight is what the factory recommends. You should start by changing the engine oil and filter. Make sure you use the oil weight that the factory recommends. I recommend using 5W-30.
