how do i fix a P0700 code on a 1998 jeep cherokee

This code only means there is a code stored in the transmission control module. You need a scan tool that can also read the tcm in order to retrieve the code and then do the repair. Basically this code is there because the TCM is telling the PCM to turn on the check engine light so you know there is a problem.
