Light on but no code retreived

2000 nissan maxima. Converter replaced and approx. 30 miles later service engine soon light came on steady. Checked for codes with scanner but no error codes showed on the scanner. Cleared light again and now a wait and see condition.

If the light is ON, but there are no code, then either the Engine Control Module (ECM) is bad or there is a short on the light circuit. You should check all the fuses first and make sure the scanner you are using is compatible with your Maxima.
