The light bulb of my car flashing on the highway and the car looses strength

I have a nissan sentra 2005. Ever since i bought it, the light bulb of the engene is always on but now, when I am on the highway this light bulb flashes and the car starts losing strength.Please help.

You can't just drive around with a check engine light on, you may have done more damage. Need to take it in for repair now.
