My car is giving me p0446 engine code I would like to know if is the purge valve or the vent valve

Typically the issue is the vent control valve. It moves very little and tends to rust open and stick that way. Without a scan tool, remove the vent control valve and supply power and ground to it and see if it is clicking on and off.
