My battery light comes on intermittently. I checked for error codes and I have a P0563 code. The battery voltage is 13.7 and the battery tests good at Advance Auto Parts. The car also hesitates and doesn't run smoothly when the event happens. I tried to fix by adding an additional ground cable to the engine, but no help. The PCM is the voltage regulator, do I have an alternator about to fail?

P0563 Battery voltage high

When a alternator charges it is 2 volts above battery voltage, If the alternator loses or has a open diode your out put looses 0.5 volts, for each diode, So yes,
