How do you resent the check engine light / clear the engine error code

Question

We read a code of P0301 cylinder 1 missfire, but the engine has no apparent problems and runs smoothly. I would like to clear the engine code to see if it is something that was a fluke or an ongoing problem. Doe anyone know how to do this? Thasnsk, David

Then your problem is intermittent, Chevy uses a misfire counter when the counter exceed 100 a misfire on that cylinder is identified and the check engine turns on, To clear the code you need a scan tool,
