I have a 2000 Ford f150 I have a p1270 in it and I just put a transmission in it and it will not go over 25 mph once it reaches 25 mph it shuts off and once it reaches 25 again starts right back up. So should I try a new vss and maybe crank sensor

P1270 Excessive RPM in neutral. Vehicle drive in a high rate of speed

You put  a transmission in, What VSS ( vehicle speed sensor) did you use? If you have the original use that one, Clear the code , and you have to disconnect the battery also.

The vehicle PCM uses crank sensor for RPM, and compars the input transmission sensor, the output transmission sensor  with the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) When another transmission is installed, any of these sensor missing or skewed will put a RPM limit,
