What happens if you don't change the camshaft position actuator solenoid?

2009 Chevrolet Malibu 2.4L, what happens if you don't change the camshaft position actuator solenoid? check engine light is on with codes p0010 and p0013

You may get engine performance problem, e.g. lack of power, engine misfire. Also with the engine light ON the vehicle will not pass the smog test. If you are not experiencing any engine performance problem and don't need to pass the smog check you can wait for as much as you want.
