What this mean is a comunication fault ,here is how it work ,you have a module that is reporting a communication fault from another module,the module that reports the fault is not that module.,Here are some of the module that may be the troubled module, ABS module,The instrument cluster (the instrument cluster is a module), TBC module,(trailer brake control),vehicle security module,one of these has a communication fault.You need a scan tool that has factory protocals,The module that does not comminucate with the scan tool is the faulty one.The best that you can do is check for fuses that are open.
