I just replaced all plugs, wires, and the coil pack in my 2000 mercury cougar. She runs like new now, but when idling it is very rough and sometimes even stalls. a P1402 code popped up now. im thinking since that i had to disconnect the EGR from the manifold this could be the problem, but i replaced everything to the same way as before. i dont know much about the EGR system... what should i do?

HI there,

Double check the connections on the egr, but also take the egr off and clean it. Use some carb cleaner to clean the pintal on the egr. It sounds like it's sticking open a little bit. Make sure there aren't any vacuum lines to it that are pulling a vacuum right now. Find more info on this code below.
