P0758 - Information for 1999 GMC Suburban K 1500

Question

Transmission will not up shift past 2nd and 3rd gear....will not advance to OD. Service Engine Soon code shows P0758 - Shift Solenoid. Can anyone advise repair process?

P0758 Shift solenoid B.electrical

Go to the engine junction fuse box and check the fuse 20 it is listed as Trans its a 10 amp fuse. If the trans fuse is okay and it is recieving power because you need to check it with a volt meter or test light,and if its good look for a poor connection going to the transmission,at the transmission connection its the pink wire.If not you need to make sure this code is not with another code just to let you know this is the 2-3 SS solenoid,and it does short out
