A further question - I was told that there was a recall on my 1996 silverado C1500.  Something about a faulty ground wire between the tranny and computer. That mine 'needed' to be replaced in order to fix the code problem but that the wire is no longer available except in a rebuild kit and that I needed to have the whole tranny rebuilt (for big $). Is this true or am I getting upsell? Thanks again if you can reply!
