What model and year is your Infiniti? You may need to replaced the O2 sensor as well or reprogram the ECM

I have a 2000 Infiniti i30. I have change both cats and the codes all cleared one day and came back the next. What do I need to do now if i am still getting p0430 bank 2 code and please send me a picture or diagram of this and how much does this part usually cost?
-
You may have to replace the O2 sensors as well. Price of the sensor varies, check your local auto parts for prices. The diagram with the location of the sensors is here:

For your 2001 Infiniti I30 is the Pre-Catalyst, which is the one between the front and rear O2 sensors. Here is a diagram of the location: http://infinitihelp.com/diy...

Hi! we just purchased our 2007 Infiniti FX35 Sport Package with 80,000 plus miles on it. When we are driving around the city it is just fine but when we hit the Interstate and I went to 75mph-85mph the check engine light comes on. I remember I put an octane booster with full tank. I went to autozone to check what the engine light is all about. It shows the P0430 code. Do I need to change the 02 sensor? or the cat pipes itself or both? where does the O2 sensor bank 2 located? pre-cat or post? please give some advice. and also do I need to do it right away or it can wait. I know its pretty expensive to buy new cats. Can I just put racing cat pipes from ebay? Ive put that before on my G35. Thank you so much!
-
The octane booster may be giving you some problem. I suggest start by clearing the code and using 91 octane gas. If the problem persist you may have to replaced the catalytic converter only for bank 2. The racing cats may still trigger the cat codes.
-
Thank you so much for your reply. How about putting fuel injector cleaner? those type of cleaning stuffs like LUCAS... are those any good? how do I clear the code or check engine light? just incase I will buy new cats, is it okay to buy a used one or should go with a new cats? how about 02 sensors? do I also need a new one for those? Again thank you for you great help.

As I search for catalytic converters on the net, I came across on these cat converters. Are these okay? it says it is a direct replacement on the OEM cat converters. Should I buy two of these or just for the bank 2... Please help me on these. Dont wanna mess up on our car.. Thank you in advance!

I recently replaced the ecm on my 2001 infiniti i30 had the key reprogrammed but its running sluggish ...not much power. Engine light isnt on but I scanned anyway due to the way its driving and the P0430 code popped up. Any suggestions ...im getting really frustrated ,
-
There are many things that could cause your I30 to run sluggish, spark plugs, fuel injectors, air filter, gas quality.
The P0430 code means that you probably need a new catalytic converter.
Before replacing the catalytic converter, you could try running the engine with high octane gas, 92 octane, that could take care of both problems.
-
Nevermind it is my catalytic converters.. .which really sucks...ty though
.aren't there 3 in a 2001 infiniti i30? -
really...only 2 ?I thought it has 2 before the cat and one after? Oh and I live in TX
I'M TRYING TO FIND A DIRECT FIT AT A DECENT PRICE ASAP.
Will I have to replace the 02 sensors too?
THANKS -
Actually there are 2 "Pre-Cats", 2 "Catalytic Converters Manifold" and 1 Catalytic Converter Under Floor.
The "Catalytic Converters" are not very effective to reduce emissions when the engine is cold, so the factory install "Pre-Cats" to reduce somes emissions during warm up period. The Pre-Cats are not as effective to reduce emissions as the Catalytic Converters.
The P0430 and P0420 codes are for the Catalytic Converters between the O2 sensors and not for the Pre-Cats or the Catalytic Converter Under Floor.
You don't need to replace the O2 sensor when replacing the Catalytic Converters.
-
Will bad cats make the car idle very odd, loss of power, almost like a transmission problem?
-
Yes, it's possible. If the cats are destroyed, the debris inside will clogged the exhaust system and create engine performance problems.
-
Threw this code, noticed a hesitation on acceleration while auto trans was shifting gears?
-
Shifting problems and P0430 code are not usually related, but you may have a very damage catalytic converter that could affect the engine performance.
I recommend starting by checking the transmission fluid for the shifting problem and try using high octane gas and fuel additive for a couple weeks. If the problem persists, the you may have to replace the catalytic converter. -
What do you think i could start off doing first obviously from going to cheapest to most expensive buying a cat would be the last thing i want to do i want to fix the code i work at advanced auto parts so getting parts is easy for where should i start off by.
-
From my experience usually the problem is the catalytic converter. Some people claimed that the O2 sensor can fix the catalytic convert code (P0420 or P0430). but I never seen that happen. You could try using high octane gas for a couple of weeks to see if that makes any difference, all depends how bad is the cat.
-
Where can i find a converter that is not after market? i called the dealer and the price for one is a mortgage.... EEK! Help
-
What model and year is your Infiniti? have you check with AutoZone or any other parts store if they have aftermarket Catalytic Converters?
-
My wife's 2012 QX56 with 112,000 miles started showing "Service Engine Soon" light. Used an OBD tool from Amazon and got the PO0430 - $07E8 (Catalyst System Below Threshold Bank 2). No other codes. I took her car for full tune up (changed spark plugs, etc. 5 months ago). Is this a big issue? Or should I ask her to get better fuel for her car??
-
Is this a big issue?
Price wise, yes. Small difference on fuel economy and engine performance.
You should definitely start by using high octane gas as a first avenue of repair. If the problem persist, then you may have to replace the catalytic converter. -
I have a 2010 Infiniti G37 with 205,000 miles on it. I’ve been getting 3 codes.
P0430 Catalyst Efficiency low threshold bank 2.
P0462 Fuel level sensor A circuit low input.
P2A03 (no description)Can you please explain what each one is and if they could be related? Also, where is the Bank 2 catalytic converter on my car?

P0430 INFINITI - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2
Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/p...More than likely the Catalytic Converter, but you should try fixing the P2A03 code first. Problems with the Air Fuel Ratio Sensor could trigger this code as well.
P0462 INFINITI - Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Low Input
Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/p...No related with the other two codes, usually the problem is the Fuel Level Sensor sensor it self. Sometimes if the fuel level goes very low, it may trigger this code as well.
P2A03 INFINITI - Air Fuel Ratio Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Bank 2 Sensor 1
Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/p...I have only seen two thing causing the P2A03 code: The sensor it self and exhaust leaks near the sensor.
where is the Bank 2 catalytic converter on my car?
Driver side.

Yes I have been having issues with the fuel gauge for awhile. It is accurate when I fill up the tank and stays accurate until I get it down to 3/4 full. After that it stays at 3/4 full until I run out of gas. Which happened once.
