Code P0302 Nissan Description

When a misfire occurs, engine speed will fluctuate. If the engine speed fluctuates enough to cause the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor signal to vary, the Engine Control Module (ECM) can determine that a misfire is occurring. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set when the Engine Control Module monitors the crankshaft speed and has detected that engine cylinder #2 is misfiring.

  • You should also replace the distributor cap and rotor. There may be a crack on the cap and water is getting in the distributor.

  • The spark pugs and ignition coils are by far the mos common problem, but there some cases where the problem was the intake plenum gasket. The next step is the Intake Plenum Gasket, if possible perform a compression test to verified there no problem with the piston or cylinder.
