It is normal for the cruise control to flash when the check engine light comes on. This is a failsafe built into the system since they went with the electronic throttle.

The code is for a lean condition.This normally is a problem with the front A/F sensor reading wrong and causing the fuel trim to be wrong. Usualy replacement of the front A/F sensor is required to resolve the problem, however checking for intake manifold leaks is also a good idea as it can cause the code.
