2009 Nissan Rogue with code P0443, what can I do to check it myself?

About the only thing you can do from home with this code is remove the purge control solenoid and then run jumpers from a battery to the solenoid and make sure a clicking noise occurs. This would mean the solenoid is working and you then need to use a scan tool to make sure the ecm is telling it to come on when it should.
