P0430 CHEVROLET -

Engine turns but won't start or even try. 97 tahoe 4x4. No other codes showing. No cats on exhaust.

The P0430 is triggered because there are no cat on the exhaust, but that shouldn't cause the no start problem. The first thing you need to do is check for fuel pressure. Try turning the key to the ON position for a few second before cranking the engine to built up fuel pressure. If the problem persist after building fuel pressure, you may have a worn out spark plugs or bad gasoline. If the engine starts without any problem, after you turning the key for a few second to the ON position, then you may have a leaking fuel injector or bad fuel pump.
