What does the p1683 means on 2002 Chevrolet Suburban 5.3L?

This code indicates the PCM has lost it's programming. Either it needs to be replaced or if it's still good reprogrammed. In most cases you will have to replace it or it wouldn't have lost the programming to begin with.
