P0101 CHEVROLET -

Question

my 1999 chev silverado 5.3 will crank and then die as if its out of gas. whats funny is it cranks every morning to go to work but when i leave work it wont turn over.if u wait 5 to 10 minutes it will crank right up. i have replaced fuel pump, fuel filter and crank sensor to no avail. now its reading code p0101 im now broke and desperate plz help

HI there,

This code is for the mass air flow sensor. It is likely causing the loss of power. I would try unplugging it when the truck won't start and see if the truck will start and idle. If it does, replace the maf sensor. You run into this type of issue when it's reading wrong because it causes the fuel mix to be to lean.
