I just got this fixed on my 2005 CRD.  It was caused by a bad jump start.  It cannot be reset in a straight-forward way, but requires reprogramming part of the ECM.  The only place I could find to do it in 3 months of looking was Pascale Performance Diesel in Warwick, RI.  Patrick there is great to work with.

Hi Leland
Very excited to find your post. I have the same issue in Perth Western Australia and unable to find and anyone in this hemisphere to help me after 2 years!!
The dealers here are hopeless.
Do you think if I  freighted my ECM to Pascale they might be able to fix mine?

Contact him to find out.  He fixed mine with the ECM in the Jeep, and I don't know if he can do it if it is removed.  Good luck.    email:  [email protected]

Spoke with Patrick and he can repair on the bench - great news !!!!
Sending the PCM today
He also offered me an upgraded performance flash at a fee, wondered if you went down this path and if so did you note any improvements in the performance?

Great, I’m glad he can do it.  No, we didn’t get into that.  I was his first P0610 fix, and we were focused on that.  I am going back on Friday to have fluids changed at 125k miles.  He’s very experienced and has a nice shop.
