I got the engine code P0404 on my 1998 Chevrolet 1500 5.0L?

This code means EGR open position performance.

This can be caused by a number of things. First would be the egr vavle itself but also plugged egr tube or egr ports can cause it, as well as some issue with the egr solenoid. If it's pulling vacuum and keeping the egr on, this code will appear.
